I have a 16-year-old brother and I want to crochet him something for Christmas but I'm having a hard time finding something gender-appropriate except hats and scarves and gloves and I don't want to make him one of those because he'll never wear them (this kid walks around in shorts and no jacket in 0 degree weather).

I thought of maybe making a robe, but that would take too long, and I can't find any patterns. Then I thought maybe a book cover because he likes to read, but all the patterns I've found look too femmy.

Any suggestions?

Does he have any fave shows? You could crochet him a character from it - my hunny wants me to make him a Homer Simpson.:hook

Somewhere on the net I saw a freebies patt for a football. Most guys that age are into sports
