I have just learned the afghan simple stitch/tunisian simple stitch. (keeps rolling:irk anywho the instructor said next I might want to try and learn the purl stitch. I looked online and found the instructions confusing to say the least. Put yarn to front:shrug :shrug What does that mean? put hook through put yarn to back:shrug yarn over pull through. I'm lost:thair :help does anyone know of a site that might have easier instructions so that I don't end up with the knotted mess.
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure what instructions you used, but Annies Attic has some pics with their instructions that may make it a little clearer (I happen to be a visual learner and prefer pics and diagrams to written instructions).

Another place you might check out is stitchguide.com - has excellent instructions.

Thanks for the replys, it helped alot. I still need to learn to adjust the tension (i need to loosen up). But I have the basic concept of Basic Tunisian stitch (afghan stitch) and the Purl stitch. Knit stitch is next again., thanks for the info.:morcoffee these stitches have been hard for me to learn. (I prefer just basic crocheting, but I am taking a crochet class, and it is fun to learn all these new things (new to me ) the instructor can do it all. crochet, knit you name it. Don't know how she does it.

Amie at Nexstitch also has some helpful tutorials on her site - HERE (http://nexstitch.com/Tutorials.html). She shows many stitches, including the knit stitch.
