2 years ago my cousin lost a breast to breast cancer now she found out she will loose the other. I want to make her a warm pink gahn for when she starts chemo again she was so cold always the last time. I need 12 inch PINK sq. to make her a gahn. Can anyone help???? Thanks!!

In going thru a cat scan last week the results are in not only breast cancer but also in her stomach region meaning femal organs, stomach or someplace other not yet determanied. I am so very up set we grew up together and are only a few months apart age wise. She goes the beg of Jan to have an extensive test to determine how much and where exactly. I will keep you posted

(1) Do you still need more squares?

(2) Any pink shade of Red Heart yarn?

(3) Any pattern?

(4) Should the squares each be only one color?

By the way, I just prayed for her and asked for a miracle!

I decided on what pattern to use...the "Circle of Friends Square" from http://members.aol.com/lffunt/circlefriends.htm and I'll add a few rounds to make it come out to 12". What an appropriate square for your cousin! Now I just hafta dig out some pink yarn...

Hi Jimmie Lu... my square DID NOT make the mail Friday. I re-measured it and it needed another 1/2" and I didn't have a chance to work on it until last night so, it'll be on it's way today!

Hope your cousin in hanging in there... my heart is with you both!

We got word my cousin will start treatment fri after she is tested again on Tuesday!!! Tests tests and more tests without any confermations stinks. She is so stressed out and now she got her "monthly" which means bye bye good white cells. So now she has to get another dose of stuff that she says hurts to have done. for to stop her monthly. So she will really need a pick me up by the weekend!!!

Jimmi Lu,

I finished my square... thanks for allowing me to still participate. Please send me your address so that I can mail it.

My grandmother was just diagnosed with breast cancer and the kiddo's and I have been working on printing out scriptures on healing for her to read and post around the apartment... but your pink ghan has got me thinking of making one for her too. She was a very talented crocheter in her time and still would be if she could see well enough to continue. I think an afghan such as you are doing would be a perfect gift to her, especially since all of the sqaures are sewn together in something much stronger than yarn, but with the Word and prayer!

Can't wait to see a picture of the completed afghan.

Ok yesterday we got the result to my cousins testing. They found a tumor in her remaining breast Thankfully it is small enough to be removed without loosing her breast. The bad news hits hard. She now has bone cancer in her back! She is 35 and her daughter is 6 she has lost so much to cancer already. I am finishing the gahn this week and delivering it sunday I will post pictures next week when we have some with her! Please pray for her. she is strong and a fighter but she needs stregnth to keep fighting!

To say it in her words"I love it love it love it" Thanks so much for your help and prayers. She has started radiation and she is still unsure if she needs chemo. so thanks and here is a :hug from my cousin!
