Here is a sweater I finished for my Hubby...I did it with Homespun yarn, which made it VERY thick. It is like a blanket, really. I actually think it came out pretty good...what do you think??http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v375/tessaaz/Crochet%20Projects/TimSweaterOn.jpg

I love it! I love thick cuddly sweaters anyway and that one just looks so plush and comfy (not to mention that the color is gorgeous!).

Thanks for your compliments! I used the Textured Pullover pattern from this book: http://leisurearts.com/crafts_needlework/item_detail.asp?item_num=3226&search=1# (http://leisurearts.com/crafts_needlework/item_detail.asp?item_num=3226&search=1)#
It is the one on the cover...however, I used Homespun yarn instead of worsted weight, so I had to tweak the gauge a bit. It worked out, but I think the sweater would look better with the worsted anyway.
If you really want some nice patterns, I just bought the book, More Crocheted Aran Sweaters by Jane Snedden Peever, and I am very excited about it. There are a few nice men's crochet sweater patterns in there. I mean, realllllllly nice. I am going to attempt at least one of them after the holidays.

Thank you. My DH is a big guy so I've always been a bit nervous to make him a sweater. Seeing how great yours has turned out has prompted me to give it a try, and he LOVES the homespun yarns, he's always petting them when I am making something out of them. I think I know what his Valentines gift will be, Heck I'm thinking his and hers sweaters.

tobybob: I got the new book at my local Joann's store. (I used my 40% off coupon!) You can find it on Amazon though. Here is a link:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1564775909/ref=pd_cmp_rvi_1_a/103-1902790-8453443?n=283155
I'm sure you can find it on Barnes and Noble as well, but they are usually a little more pricey.
Sonny....just wanted to add that if you want to know how I tweaked the pattern, pm me and I will send you my notes on the changes I did. My hubby is a 3XL, and the pattern only went to a 2XL, if I remember correctly.
