View Full Version : Afghan stitch scarf?

Okay, I've never used the afghan stitch to make a scarf, but it's nice and tight and that's what my son wants for his scarf.

Problem I'm having is that as I add rows, the whole thing seems to be curling. Not side to side, but top to bottom. I'm thinking this is because I'm using just the front-side posts to make the stitch - should I use the back side alternately? Or is this something that will eventually be solved by washing/pinning the scarf when it's finished?

It's been forever since I made anything with crochet, as you can guess. I'm trying to channel my Grandma Pearl, but not having much luck so far.

Any suggestions are welcome!! :blush

Tunisian likes to curl, that's just the nature of it. When you finish, do a row of single chain all around the perimeter. That should help alot. You may even want to do two rows.

Hope I helped!

Also add a fringe if it still curls.

That's what I do too.
