I'm more like your daughters. Even thought I may like something, I ask myself which I want more: The finished product or the money I'll make from selling it. For me, I almost always pick the money. If it's something I really, really like, I sometimes overprice it, assuming it won't sell, so I'll get to keep it, but that usually sells and I'm stuck with something I don't want. Of course, most of the time, I justify to myself that I can make myself another one, which of course I never do. I either sale or give away most of the stuff I make, so I keep very little of it for myself.

If I know I can get good money for it, then I don't normally have a problem. It's just time to make something else to fill the spot.

I do get attached to items. and I don't know why. Most times I don't make it for myself. Taking pictures helps. At least I can look at them.

I get my enjoyment from making the item and have no problem shipping it out.:hook

Like Catherine, my enjoyment comes from the making of the item itself. Personally, I have no "style", so I rarely make anything that I myself would wear, except socks and slippers. But I love to give things away. And surprisingly, a gift often leads to a future sale. I tell myself I will make up a few things to sell, but I can't help just giving them away.
