mom's snowman

i made this snowman by needle felting, and crocheted his hat and scarf.
he's about 3 inches tall and is a gift for my mother (today is her birthday)

needle felting is a process with wool. you form it into shapes/creatures/designs using special barbed needles that you stab it with repeatedly. sounds vicious, but it's TONS of fun!

oh, and the eyes and and buttons are felted on.

He looks so cute perched in your tree. I agree needle felting is very addictive, but it's so much fun. I do a lot of critters and weird people and the roving really does tell you what it wants to be as you're doing it. I haven't stabbed myself yet, but everybody be careful and don't watch tv while you're doing it!:eek
