:manyheart Happy Holidays to all! I am sitting here with my first cup of coffee and decided to ask all my friends for ideas. It's the beginning of a new year (well almost!) and I want to add some new and exciting projects to my already line of crochet. I do craft shows and have one coming up in March, so I need to get to work. Let me tell you what I already have and see if anyone else has any ideas that I can use. I sell ponchos (all sizes) baby sweaters and hats, childrens dresses, hats and scarfs, towel toppers and dishrags, ornaments(seasonal) purses. I just feel like I am missing something easy and simple that everyone likes to buy so if anyone comes up with a good idea I can use, I'd love to hear it!:hug

I always have out a bowl of simple hair scrunchies made from my scraps(takes about 18 yards).I use the hairbands without the metal pieces.I sell them for a dollar or two, depending on the show.Kids hate having that last dollar burning a whole in their pocket,LOL.

I have little Money change bags that I sell for $5 a piece. During the summer I do furry flip flops. Anything cute baby wise should do well.
Good luck!

Crochet glasses cases and matching cell phone cases have sold well for me. I edge them with another bright color and add a special button (like a flower, strawberry, teddy bear, etc). You can get a bag of plastic buttons for less than a dollar when Michael's or JoAnn's has them on sale. There should be enough buttons to make at least 8 cases.
If you are willing to include a non-crocheted item, I saw someone at a show who sold tons something like fairy halos. All it consisted of was one of those cheap metal craft rings that was large enough to fit on the crown of a child's head and they wrapped it with bright colored curling ribbon (yes the kind you put on gifts) around it, leaving long curly tendrils hanging down the back. They were less then $5, which is what I've noticed is the unofficial parent limit on children's buying. There is no telling how many little girls I saw parading down the path with those halos on their heads that day.

thank you all for your ideas! Am making a list of your ideas to discuss with my daughter (partner in business). Poor girl already works two other full time jobs!

You could make the Little Cradle Purses. You could add a doll with it. There are very cute. You could also make some plastic bag holders.

For the holidays I made my friends small crocheted purses with a long strap that they can wear across their chest while they walk and carry their cellphone, keys and money....Everyone wants one and you can make them quickly out of Lions homespun....or a dressier yarn..

I just made some fingerless mittens, and showed them to someone at work today and they asked for a pair and someone else probably will buy a pair as well. REally easy, and quick, and very in right now.

Don't forget that if the show is early enough in March -- St. Patricks Day is March 17th, maybe some cute shamrock lapel pins in a basket might be a good display, or some shamrock potholders, dishcloths, etc....

What about a giant (or at least a little larger) checkerboards for the floor? You can then do black and red (or white) posies for the pieces, crochet a bag to keep them in...and sell it all as a set.

hat bands
head bands
book marks
medals (maybe with a coin or button dangling?)
eyeglass cords (maybe with little surgical tubes a the ends to attach the ear pieces)
and oooo oooo how about a shift knob bootie? How cool would that be... a little bootie that fits over your gear shift knob? not for me mind you... i'm a lumberjack and i'm ok....

How about nylon scrubbies? I hate making them but love using them. Most people sell them for $1, I get at least one every year at the town craft show. Charlene

Along the checkerboard idea, check out the "Big Book of Crochet". It has a pattern for a little tote bag that has a checkerboard on one side of the bag and a tic tac toe game on the other. Something like that would be good for kids to take on long car rides, trips to the doctor, or whereever the parents need to keep them occupied.
I'm not sure when Easter hits this year, but if the date is fairly close, make a couple of easter items. I would think any kind of spring themed item would work since March is really when people begin to get in the mood to decorate their homes with colors and flowers.

Tea cosies are popular here, as are placemats, coasters and string bags.

I think belts would do well. They work up quickly and are really in fashion right now. You could do wide ones out of a really chunky yarn or skinny ones out of something glittery.

I saw the cutest idea on the Ellen show the other day. One of the audience members had a purse shaped like a tv. Where the screen was there was a clear plastic pocket where you could put a photograph. This would be adorable in crochet.
