BIG LOTS $1.99 JEWEL BOX YARN

I just got the flyer from BIG LOTS!:yay :cheer
They have the yarn Jewel Box at $1.99 and other assorted yarn .The sale is
from January 3rd to January 8th. I hope all of you that have a big lots close to

I like Jewel Box alot...it is a lighter weight chenille (probably WW) and usually has a main color with 1-2 contrasting color stripes along the length of the yarn...really neat looking!

When I read this post I immediately went to the net to check out their website for the closest Big lots and looked at their ad. They have the same yarn on sale:cheer and since my husband works just down from where it is located I have volunteered him to get me some. He says you all are evil for letting everyone know about sales. But he did say it is jest.:D He is such a sweetie.

Thank you! I saw this post yesterday and went to my local Big Lots! store last night...we had the same sale :) I had to really restrain myself and only bought 12 skeins (had about 20+ skeins in my cart at one point :blush ) What a great deal :tup

Now just need to go through my stash and figure out what I'm going to make with it all!

Went by my Big Lots this morning and they hadn't gotten this yarn in ... all they had was the remnants of the Christmas and novelty yarns they've had forever. They didn't even KNOW about the Jewel Box until I made them go get the flyer, then everyone scratched their heads and muttered a while, then told me nope, no yarn on either of their two trucks this week. BAH!

As an aside one employee kept insisting to me that she was a BIG crocheter, she crocheted ALL THE TIME, and she'd never heard of this here Caron stuff, it must be some off brand junk ;) I told her they carried it at Michael's, Joann's, WalMart ... she continued to insist that she'd never heard of it and refused to believe that it was a major name brand. Too funny.

As an aside one employee kept insisting to me that she was a BIG crocheter, she crocheted ALL THE TIME, and she'd never heard of this here Caron stuff, it must be some off brand junk I told her they carried it at Michael's, Joann's, WalMart ... she continued to insist that she'd never heard of it and refused to believe that it was a major name brand. Too funny.

I went to the Big lots in Sunnyvale at lunch time and they have Feathers by Caron for $1.99 .....help!!!!! I'm addicted to yarn!!! I didn't need this I just had to have it!!! :lol

I just had to share with all of you. I went to big lots today. I was so nervous because I wasn’t able to get there right when the store opened, do to my son’s doctor’s appointment. Well I made my mad dash through the store and started to panic when I couldn’t find anything. So I asked the lady there and she pointed me in the right direction. OMG there it was…… There was so much I wasn’t sure what all to buy. I wanted everything… But I held myself back and only bought 13 skan’s of caron feathers #8 Night heron, and 2 skan’s of the caron feathers purple finch….. I had such a hard time deciding on which ones to buy. Oh that was so much fun finding it that cheap. After we left there I had to run to Wal-mart and they had the same thing there for $4.82. What a deal we got on this one. Now I have to find something to make with all this. My daughter wants an afghan so I will have to find a pattern.

You are not going to believe what my hubby is doing. He just called me from Big Lots, and they have approximately 300 skeins or there abouts of the Jewel Box yarn. He is actually pulling them all now as I type and buying them for me :yay :yay.

I am not believing this is actually happening----Oh, do I love him :hug. I am so beside myself right now that I just do not know where to go to outside and simply let out with one of the biggest shouts this holler has ever heard :lol.

Oh my, I just thought of all the colors, oh lordy I just can't wait for him to get home now.:clap

few hours of opening. I was really dissapointed so to feel better I asked my

I didn't even see the Big Lots ad, but tonight my parents and I went out for dinner and afterwards mom wanted to go to Big Lots. At first, all I saw was some Christmas yarn, which IMHO was overpriced even before Christmas and I'm still waiting for them to put that on clearance. They also had some kind of weird looking novetly type yarn by some brand I'd never heard of. The colors were odd, so I didn't get that.

Then, right as we started to leave, I saw the Jewel Box stuff. I saw the same thing on clearance at Michael's today for over $4, so I was shocked at the price. I've never used Jewel Box, and really didn't know what kind of yarn I was getting, but it was a good deal and nice colors, so I had to have it. Didn't I?

The only bummer was I was with my dad, who doesn't understand why I have so much yarn, especially when I already went to Michael's and Hobby Lobby earlier today. Therefore, I was good and only bought two skeins of something it resembles animal print brown tones on the skein. Who knows what it will look like when I do something with it. I have no idea *what* I'll do with it since there isn't a whole lot of it, but I'll cross that bridge when I finish the other million or so projects on my list.

I have a Big Lots within walking distance of my house, but I haven't taken a look to see if they had any of this yarn there. I've never seen any yarn at this store before, so it's likely I wouldn't this time either. It's just as well, as I didn't have the money for it anyway. I would have a real hard time of it if I saw that there at such a price, would be seriously tempted to be late paying a bill or two in order to get it, so not having any money until Saturday at the soonest is probably a blessing in disguise! :lol

My Big Lots did not have the Jewel Box, but they had Caron Glitter holiday skeins, 6 ozs. each, for 97 cents. I'm not sure what to make from it, but for that price, I decided I'd let the yarn talk to me and tell me what it wants to be. Okay, that thunk ya'll just heard was the sound of the unofficial new year's resolution to only buy yarn with a specific project in mind hitting the floor. :lol Pattu

well I stopped on my way home from work and I am glad I did because our big lots only had a gray tub of yarn left . I bought 11 skeins . Two different colors. one is a black with like a neonpurple and green I think and the othere is white with the coloring brown and black. Now I need to find something to do with it. I picked up a few skeins of Jewel Box tonight and one skein of Schachenmayr Nomotta Blue Jean for $2.99. I Googled Schachenmayr and it is a Dutch brand. There was more of this brand in different styles all for $2.99 - a great deal.

Then I went into a Brooks Pharmacy and found Bernat on sale, the prices were reasonable. The Brooks that I usually go to does not carry yarn so it was a complete shock.
