Hello everyone! I am a first timer here, and I really need your help! I am attempting to crochet a pair of mitts for a child. I have the body of the mitts done (they crochet into one piece, then have to be folded and sewn together for form mitts). I am going on to the thumb section, and do not know what the directions mean...here they are....Ch 1 for thumb 10 sc 5 slip 5 sc Ch 13 Skip 22 5 sc.........and on from there. I do not understand the "Skip" part, what does that mean, and how do I do that? I will really appreciate your assistance.

"Skip" means exactly that...you don't make any stitch in those number of stitches, but directly go to the next one to do your sc (or whatever stitch)

There is a good picture of the part you asked about here (http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/wintergear.html) (2nd pic)
