Jimmie Lu, I've never volunteered for to be a tester before. I think I'd like to, if you still need any, as a shawl is on my to do list anyway.

Is it a triangular shawl? I'm actually looking for a pattern to crochet for someone, and she wants a triangular one, preferably lightweight for the spring/summer months...PAM

Got my pattern. I'll have to go through my stash tonight after work. I'm pretty sure I have something that will work for this one.

Ok i'm done, firstly i found i was better off to put the last dc of row 2 into the top of the turning ch instead of the dc of the previous row, as it gave me a neater edge. So Row 2. became,2 dc in same ch 3 sp, ch 1, dc in next ch1 twice, dc in top of turning ch of previous row, ch 3, turn. Now i tried it with a size 4.50mm hook and 8ply acrylic to start with but it became apparent that you would have to make many more than 42 rows to get the size needed. So i frogged it and changed to a size 7.00mm hook and two strands of 8ply held together. It worked up very quickly and i am going to fringe it. It is lovely and super quick to make thankyou Jimmie Lu. I apologise as i dont have a camera so i cant show you a photo. I did it in a pale butter yellow color.

If that's the case, then I think for mine I'm going to experiment and try crocheting it in Homespun, as I have some in my stash. I figure it would make a nice, warm shawl...PAM

Jacqui, I came to the same conclusion you did about the dc at the end of each row. I also have made the required number of rows and it isn't large enough to fit a small child yet. But I haven't frogged it yet. I may just continue adding rows until it's wide enough to wrap and see how long the back gets.

Yes its not a large shawl, so if your big like me you would have to increase every second or third row to make it larger and increase the amount of rows accordingly also.

I am so glad you are all posting this info. I am not a large woman I am rather petite and tall I made the pattern acording to me so these adjustments are great!!

Here's mine, I did the same and did the last stitches of the row in the top of the ch3 of the previous row. Oh and sc around to finish it off.

It's made with a reddish brown thin chenille with my Jimbo N hook. I followed the pattern as far as row number and it fits me fine.

So you changed hook size? Do you think that will make the difference in size? What are your measurements?

O.K. I finished this, I like it, very easy pattern,:clap I used a cotten and a J hook but I feel like I have the middle of a shawl. I think I am going to crochet a flower border around the shawl:blush
great job Jimmie Lu

I came to the same conclusion everyone else did about the amount of rows. I would say, instead of telling the crocheter to do 40 rows, to keep going until a certain length and width...PAM

As you can see, it fits my 9 year old daughter nicely. Maybe it's just my preference, but it seems too small for me...
Otherwise, It was a nice pattern! I had fun making it, and it turned out very pretty!
The yarn I used was Red Heart Holiday in a dusty rose color with a gold metallic thread, it is a very pretty yarn.
Thanks for letting me test!
