For those of you who sell patterns to magazines and other places, which do you find you get a better response from? I have a poncho I have designed done entirely in Caron yarn and was wondering if it would be better to submit it to the yarn company or to a magazine/book publisher. Do you always submit to the same places, or do you change where you submit, based on what you are selling? Please give me some advice, even if you haven't sold a pattern for publishing.

Also, for those that sell to other places and sell your patterns on your personal websites; do the companies that buy your patterns have a problem with you selling them prior to signing a contract?

From what I've heard - since I'm in the process of selling patterns also - it's a good idea to sell it to a successful online yarn shop that carries the particular yarn you used. That way they can sell it as just a pattern or as a kit.
I'm interesting in seeing what other reponses you get here.
Good luck with it!
