Hi I just made a store on Etsy.com. I usually sell on Ebay and am simply wondering if anyone has had success selling on Etsy.com. I just want to know what to look towards. :D

I've had a store since November and I haven't sold anything.

I have sold two items in my etsy store and I think I opened it in November! I like it better than ebay because it is only ten cents to post an item and it stays there for six months (as opposed to the seven days at ebay). I have had to hold myself back from splurging in everyone else's store. There are some really neat things there!

You have some neat things at your store. Here is mine: www.jjvsop.etsy.com (http://www.jjvsop.etsy.com)
For now I just have some flower pins.

Well, I think it takes time and perserverance. I'm not sure how the sellers who just list end up selling stuff so quickly but I'm quite sure they do a lot of work getting the stuff to sell. If you can find that little "unique" item too that helps for sales. Check what everyone else is selling....chances are if they are like everyone else's, it's tough to sell or perhaps it is like everyone else's but has a unique twist on it, that will probably sell.
I also find pricing difficult...because although I'd love to price to what I think it's worth, a lot of sellers are selling pretty low...so that changes my pricing scheme tremendously.
Good luck!!

Amber, you should put a link to your etsy shop in your signature.

I opened a store just after the holidays. I know, dumb. Haven't sold anything yet. And now I feel like it's too late in the season. Oh well. I really like the idea of it, so I'm not giving up.

Does Etsy crash occasionally? I tried to look at a couple of your stores and got an error message. Any thoughts?

I just created a store last week. I haven't sold anything, but I think you've just got to get the word out and let people know what you are doing. Make things unique. That's what I'm trying to do. HTH!!
