Short sleeved cardigan

I'm looking for a pattern for my mom's birthday. She wants a short-sleeved cardigan (maybe in a ribbon yarn or something else not too 'wooly', but defiinately not in thread), but quite 'holey', like the romantic bolero from Lionbrand. I'm also not sure that the diagonal hemline of the bolero will work on my mom, as she's a little apple shaped.
I've searched CPC but can't find quite what I'm looking for.
Anyone have anything?

Maybe you can try and adjust them to ribbon yarn and a different hook.
