Anyone ever heard of Google? Great search engine - type in key words and get LOTS of results that are easy to sort through. Be sure to include the word "free" in your search.
This bear is cute - I did him a couple years ago:

Actually I use Yahoo. Just as good. ;)
You'd be surprised how many people don't know about any search engines. Not everyone has been online for as long as some of the rest of us. Even those that have get stumped when searching sometimes. Our brains lock up and we can't think of the right word or words to use. Also I usually go to CPC and places like that before I yahoo anything. Most times I find what I need there.
We were all beginners at some point so I personally don't mind helping when I can. :)

A couple of years ago, I made my expectant sister-in-law (who collects teddy bears) a huge basket full of different styles and colours of teddy bears. I used about 10 different patterns, but my favourite was this one:

I know the picture doesn't look like much but it worked up easy and he was by far the cutest of the bunch. I altered the pattern a little, continuing the body in one piece, but doing the arms and legs separately and attaching them with buttons to the side after; that way he can sit down. There is also a dress available:

Good luck!

It's not free, but the Leisure Arts A Year of Teddy Bears is good, too!

Fran,
I love crocheting teddy bears and I've not yet seen that pattern. Thanks!!! I'll have to get started on that one right away.

I have made the boy and girl bears from the Grandma's Hookery patterns posted by fran. http://www.allfreecrafts.com/crochet/index.shtml
They are really cute and can be made with any weight yarn.
