I am looking for a hat pattern for a 2-year old boy. I have looked at CPC and Bev's but have not found any I really like in the right size. Any suggestions?

What kind of style are you looking for? Toque, deerstalker, newsboy, bowler, fedora?

Anything that isn't too difficult really! I just want to make something fun to send along for a swap partner's son.

I actually just did Dot's http://bythehook.blogdrive.com/archive/110.html UBW hat in one strand of ww instead of two, and it came out perfect for my three year old. I think it would fit a two year old just fine. It doesn't get much simpler than that one! It's only the third hat I've made; it was really easy and came out really nice. It isn't as thick and strechy as the original, but cute and functional.
I used Caron SS in soft pink, but I'm sure you want to choose something more gender appropriate for your little recipient! :lol

Here's an easy pattern: I've made my grandsons hats with RH ww Camouflage yarn (they call 'em "army" hats). I chain 42, dc in 3 ch from hk and in ea ch across, ch 2, turn (40 dc made). Do about 40 rows, going in back loops only, then fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Thread yarn-tail onto yarn needle. Fold piece in half, bringing the short ends together, pin (I use bobby-pins), and sew (whip-stitch) the side seam, then weave your needle in & out around the open edge & gather tightly (this is the top of your hat). Tie off securely. Fold up cuff, and voila! A hat! By going in the back loops only, it makes it like ribbing and it's a little "stretchy". To make it smaller, start with less sts, and do less rows. Conversely, to make a larger hat, add sts and rows to make it fit. You can make one of these in a day. Let me know whatcha tink?!?! :lol
