I was browsing Ken Jones' (That Crochet Guy!) photo album and came across this captivating, gorgeous afghan: http://pic11.picturetrail.com/VOL361/491324/2033883/59127978.jpg

I love it!!! Ken calls it "Kaleidescope Afghan". Does anyone know if this is from a book or pamphlet, or is it an original creation? It looks fairly straightforward as a pattern, but I wondered if it was from a published source or just from one incredibly creative mind! I was thinking how fabulous it would look on my queen sized bed!

If I remember right, Ken makes up pretty much most of his designs and he does not write the pattern down.

I really like that! The colors are so vibrant. My husband would even like that. I wonder if Ken has the pattern posted on the site? I'll have to go check it out...

I wish I could be creative enough to make up things like that.

I love afghans and those are the most gorgeus. Is there anyway you can get the patterns? For these patterns I would pay.

Yup I was right, if you go to the main page of his website and srcoll down you will see it clearly says:

I DON'T SUPPLY OR MAKE UP PATTERNS TO GIVE OR SELL.

MOST OF MY THINGS I MADE UP ON MY OWN.

Yes, I do know Ken makes up most of his stuff. This was one of his student's work and many of them DO use published patterns. I recognized many of them from magazines and booklets I own. I'm not asking for the pattern - I can easily figure it out from the picture.

I wondered if anyone recognized the afghan as a published pattern. :) That's all. :) :) :)

That is one colorful afghan :yay

It does look like it would be easy to figure out from the pic, looks like a giant granny square type.

I'm not asking for the pattern -

My mistake. It was a bit misleading since you wanted a booklet and wanted one on your bed. :lol
My answer wasn't directed at only you but also those that wondered about Ken posting his patterns. ;)

I can easily figure it out from the picture.

That's what I was thinking.
I hope you can find the information you're looking for. :)

Hi there Tween, I had to double check as the pattern name was the same. The free pattern from Annies Attic is granny squares that look like a kaleidoscope(however you spell it), but I do like the other one as well

I took a look at Ken's site. Geez, that guy has talent! I e-mailed him and told him to publish a book of his work -- he'd make a mint!
