I was just at Michael's last night looking for some Sculpey to add onto my thread hook handles and ALAS! It was all on sale!! For a 2 oz. block, $1!! They have a TON of colors too -- I did originally look at the Crayola Model Magic (or whatever it's called) which is also on sale; 2 for $5, but the colors were really limited. And you don't bake it, and it can't get frozen....weird...just didn't seem like it would be very "tough" or long-lasting??
Anyway, thought I'd share!!

Thanks so much Cristin! I bought the Crayola stuff and have it "hardening" right now on a few of my hooks. I couldn't find any sculpy at Jo-Anns or Walmart and since I need to run into Michaels again I will be sure to pick a pack up! Thanks for the head up on this one!!!

I have a question, I can buy Fimo but it says it needs hardening in the oven. So would i be better off with an air drying type of modelling clay? Do you put thehook with the Fimo in the oven or do you make the handle and glue it on after? Sorry but i've never done anything like it before.

Jacqui,

Decorate your hook as desired and put it all in the oven.
The clay "bakes onto" your hook...no gluing necessary.
The low temp and short baking time will not hurt your hooks.:)
