I'm not sure if these are the same ones you are requesting, but there are 3 patterns on Ebay currently called "Paper Dolls Afghan" They are all the same pattern and the original pattern came from a Crochet World magazine from April 2005. Have a look at the auctions here: Paper Dolls Afghan Patterns (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?sofocus=bs&sbrftog=1&fstype=1&from=R10&satitle=Paper+dolls+afghan&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC6&bs=Search&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&coaction=compare&copagenum=1&coentrypage=search&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&sadis=200&fpos=33141&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&saprclo=&saprchi=) Hope this is the one you are looking for. Sorry, I can't be of more help.

See this post (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=20897) as this pattern has already been requested in the past week. I had found 3 auctions on Ebay for Paperdoll Afghan. It's also in the April 2005 issue of Crochet World.

For those (like me) who want to know where the pattern is, it's in a Leisure Arts book called "A Year of Afghans: Book 4". Made this discovery on another forum.

I love when that happens....can you post a pic of the cover of the mag when you get it please. It is very helpful for me to know what is on the cover when I go searching on ebay. Please DO NOT request another member make a copy of this pattern and send it to you. Making such a request is a violation of our forum guidelines (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=27599) relating to copyright.
Members who receive such requests are encouraged to forward them to me so I can make sure the member who's making the request knows why this is is a violation of our guidelines. Don't worry, I promise I won't be mean to anybody if you forward their request to me! :) I'll just nicely explain our guidelines.
So far, we haven't had any people continue requesting copies of patterns after I've helped them understand our guidelines. If that ever does happen, however, that person would be at high risk of losing their Crochetville account.

Showing the cover of the magazine doesn't infringe on copyright laws. Showing the actual pattern does. All we would like to see is the cover of the magazine. Thanx for doing this.

:cheer I'm so excited! I finally got a copy of this pattern. I've posted in other forums and even 'WANT IT NOW' on Ebay. Nothing was happening. So today, out of desperation, I added the comment "Will trade my Cathedral Window Afghan magazine for Pink Paper Dolls. Fully intake magazine with many great patterns." (In essence that's what I said). Some person took pity on my I guess and is sending me the actual pattern. I confirmed it was the solid pink pattern with the little girl with pig tails that appeared to be cut-out. She sent me a picture of what she has and sure enough, it's Pink Paper Dolls! I'm so excited. I was actually almost done with re-creating a pattern just from the one picture I have. My re-creation looks pretty good, too. Now to compare my notes to the actual pattern.
Good question: if my pattern is nothing like the original (which I'm sure it's not even close) could I post the pattern for everyone else? How would that be legally? Would I be violating copyright laws just because I created a pattern from a picture? What about the Fendi bag or any of the other name brand bags that others are re-creating? Anyone got a clue?
P.S. The lady sending me Pink Paper Dolls doesn't want my Cathedral Windows Afghan magazine. For the $60 I had spent on it, I didn't really want to part with it but I really wanted Pink Paper Dolls and had already made 1 Cathedral Window Afghan.

Please do not email me nor PM me to email you a copy of this pattern. First, I am still awaiting the pattern to come via snail mail. Second, it is against the law to share a pattern that is still copyright protected. Third, and most importantly, I have been a long time member of Crochetville (see the number of my posts) and do not wish to be thrown out due to copyright issues. It is against Crochetville's rules & regulations for any member to email copyright protected patterns to other members. I will not and cannot do this. My post above was to share my excitement over finally finding this most coveted pattern which I've been searching daily for quite a while now.
I hate having to say no but I must. In emails or PMs I receive concerning this matter will be deleted without being opened.
If you are interested in the pattern I have come up with, that is another thing, but at this point, that pattern isn't ready to share and I am still searching out the questions as to the copyright and legality of my pattern. Plus, it's simply not typed up yet, only notes and scratches although the final sample is done. I will be taking a picture tomorrow and hopefully posting it for you all to see. But keep in mind, this is not a sample of the original pattern but my version of what the picture seems to be.

Cheryl, thanks so much for posting your stance on this publicly! You are completely right about Crochetville's guidelines on this issue: it's a forum guideline violation for someone to send out copies of a copyrighted pattern and it's also a forum guideline violation for someone to request that another member do that.
Just in case anyone has already PM'd/emailed Cheryl or is thinking about doing so, she would be well within her rights to forward those requests on to me. (In fact, we encourage members to forward this type of request to us, for the protection and benefit of the Crochetville community as a whole.) And since everyone has now been warned that this is NOT an okay thing to do, I'd have to assume you were deliberately violating our guidelines about copyright. Nothing good ever comes from a member deliberately violating our guidelines. :(
(I do know some new members don't realize this is a violation. Whenever there is the slightest chance that someone may have violated a guideline innocently, I always err on the side of assuming that's what happened, and gently educate them about our guidelines.)

The Fendi knock-off bags and others that people are recreating are a different situation, since people are not copying them from a written pattern that is available for purchase by the general public.
Now, since you created your own pattern from a picture of an item that you knew was made from an existing copyrighted pattern, then yes, there are copyright issues involved there, to the best of my knowledge.
At this point, we couldn't allow the pattern to be posted here or any links to be posted to it if it were hosted off-site. I would suggest trying to contact the copyright holder of the original pattern and ask if they believe your "inspired by" to infringe upon their rights. If they don't have a problem with it, and you can forward that written permission to us, then we can let the pattern be posted here. If they do have a problem with it, then you'd need to go a step further if you wanted to pursue posting the pattern. At that point, you could retain an intellectual property attorney who specializes in fiber/textile arts and patterns, and get their opinion as to whether your pattern is actually infringing. (Some copyright holders may try to claim more rights under copyright law than their pattern actually qualifies to be afforded.) If the attorney was willing to provide us with a written statement as to why they don't feel the pattern is infringing, we could allow it to be posted.
Of course, I'm not an attorney, so please don't take this as actual legal advice, because it's just my opinion.

That's what I was thinking, too. Although I don't have the original pattern in my hand yet and I did re-create my pattern from a photo...there is still the issue of copyright. I'll have to look further into this. Thanx for the suggestions.

I saw this today on :ebay. in case anyone was still looking.
I saw this, too. What's really interesting about the auction is Jean Leinhauser is the seller. For those that don't know, Jean is designer/publisher of many crochet books. She's a designer of patterns as well. Check some of your crochet books at home and 98% chance, Jean is the author of at least one of them. I know I have several of her books. Plus, she bought my Loopi pattern a while back and published it. I had to give her the copyright. I find it interesting that she's the seller because of who she is. She's NOT selling the pattern but selling a Pink Paper Doll square, the pattern is free with the purchase of the square. BTW, she's selling the square for $9.99 (Buy It Now) plus $2 shipping.
You get one crocheted 6"x8" Crocheted Paper Doll Cut-Out granny square AND you get the pattern for making the motif. Quoted from the Ebay auction page. Pink Paper Doll Auction (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=005&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=150091550724&rd=1&rd=1)
While I'm happy to see the pattern resurfacing, for those that have wanted it and haven't found it yet, at the same time I'm a bit puzzled that Jean is the one selling it. She's not the author of the pattern and as far as I know, wasn't/isn't associated with McCalls or Country Crochet. Maybe she got permission to 'share' the pattern. But seems to me it's against copyright laws which Jean must be well aware of. What do you think?
Yes, she's giving the pattern away with the purchase of the square, but that's just apples & oranges. Isn't it? And making a nice profit on the side. Could it be a different Jean Leinhauser?

It's very possible that this seller is using her name, although to what end, who knows. On the other hand, many of the items that she has bought are crochet items, so it could very well be her. Neither scenario would surprise me.
Something else that wouldn't surprise me is that she might read the seeking patterns forum here and sell stuff on eBay accordingly! Kind of interesting how that auction turned up after so many inquiries on C'Ville.... She seems like a crafty (in more than one sense) business person!

Just because she's a designer doesn't mean she doesn't collect other patterns, like the rest of us. Maybe she started it and decided she didn't like it as much, didn't have time to do it, or the intended passed away. It's impossible to know why people do things.
It's also possible that someone is using her name, like mentioned.
