Looking for a specific crocheted granny square Christmas stocking. My mom made a stocking for each of my daughters back in the early 80's. She does not recall which magazine had the pattern (I figure it was either Women's Day or Family Circle, but I could be wrong).
The stocking is approxmately 18" top to bottom. Each side of the stocking consists of nine 3.5" granny squares. The cuff of the stocking is made of needlepoint canvas upon which the child's name is needlepointed in a cursive Christmas alphabet.
I am not clever enough to look at a crocheted article and figure out how to make it. I need written directions. I have e-mailed both magazines and have received replies that basically say I have to let them know which specific issue the pattern is in. I have no clue. So I'm appealing to all you crocheters out there to please, please let me know if you or someone you know has this pattern that I can purchase.
I would love to make these stockings for MY grandchildren. :)
Thank you.
