Short-sleeved cardigan.

I went to the village north of where I live, to the little yarn shop there (much more informative and intimate than Michaels, no offense to Michaels). They have a great basket of yarn at the front of the store with 40% off stuff. I bought a bag of 9-50g balls of Estelle 100% cotton in creamy white. I want to make a short-sleeve cardigan for my mom for the spring and summer; something to where in the evenings over sundresses, etc. I'd like it to be a 'holey' design but not in filet.
Anybody know of anything?
