Today we took a little road trip and of course I had to take along something to keep myself busy. I don't hold still well if you haven't guessed that by now. I have to be doing something with my hands. Well I didn't think I would be able to concentrate on a doily to well, so I took along a small project that I wanted to get started on towards next Christmas.
I want to make nice tissue covers for individual pocket tissues for my students. Today was my first chance to play with this idea. I just sort of winged it as I went. The rose has some possiblities, I think I might have to refine it abit. What do you think? Nothing fancy or wild here but fun to make. It is done in size 10 thread pink and Burgundy. I used a size 7 1/65mm Hook The leaves I just crocheted directly onto the cover. 1 down and lots more to go. But for once I have started early...novel.

Kathy that is a wonderful gift idea. Your students should be very happy. Another supurb idea.
Sure is a twist away from your doily designing but sometime we need a diversion.

Great job with the tissue cover Kathy! The little tissue packets are really big here in Belgium (you practically can not find boxes it seems) would be a great gift to give to people!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. :blush
I will try to write out the pattern sometime this week. I haven't done up a free pattern for a while and to me this is a prime canidate. I wont promise the same flower as I think I want to do little refining on that design before I put it out. I'll make sure it has a nice flower though, just not that rose. Will post when I have the pattern done.

I too would love to be one of your students! :jumpyay Uhm, what do you teach? :blush
I'm so happy to hear you will be sharing this pattern, this is definitely one I'd like to do, makes a perfect little gift item (not to mention would like one for myself!). You've probably already got a tester list a mile long, but if you need another, I'm at your service! :hook

I crochet between lessons and in the evenings. works well between lessons as I can put it down and pick it up with out loosing my place.
I will definitely keep you in mind as a tester. I seem to be keeping everyone pretty busy these days. But I do so love to create.........:hook
