Anyone have a pattern for a simple birdcage cover? I'd love to make something for my mom's bird but have not been able to find anything I think would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated :hook

This might help you. I needed a cover for my large KitchenAid mixer and couldn't find a pattern, so with the help from www.freepatterns.com (http://www.freepatterns.com) I was able to get started and then I just made up the bottom half to go with my mixer. If you go to the website, sign in and go to crochet patterns, under Special Occasions on the first page is Americana Toaster and Can Opener Covers. I used this to figure out how to do the top. Basically, you do a ch the length needed and then do like you are going to do an oval, then you use granny sq corners. Then you can start working in rounds. Here's a better picture of how I did my can opener cover and toaster cover. At the bottom, I just ch 3 and sc in each stitch around. I think this would work for a bird cage cover. I used RH white and it washes up soft and drapes nicely.
