I'm sure there have been posts on this but apparently "rag" and "rug" are both too short for the search engine ;)

I have a bunch of old t-shirts I didn't know what to do with. I was thinking I might give a whirl at making an oval rag rug.

Anyone know of any patterns online I can look at? I thought it would be easy enough to search but then found a page that says that rag rugs are really hard and will only work if you use their pattern (in their book) and now I'm intimidated :lol

I went through a rag rug craze a few years back. Tore up a lot of old fabrics into 3cm strips and sewed these together. Didnt have a pattern, but started with a circle and kept increasing arround. Used the same approach as with a flat doily, but used a very large hook.
