Last week I found a cute baby vest pattern, and while I was working with it I realized that it is two 9" squares (one for the front, one for the back) with two 3" squares for the shoulders. So now I know what to do with my box of granny squares.
You sew the sides of the 9" blocks together about 2/3 of the way up. Sew the 3" blocks at the top to make the shoulders. Wish I could draw a picture!
