View Full Version : Emerald's Song #10 original Design for Birthstone Doilies

Little slower on this one. The first concept I had for this one just wasn't ready to become reality. So I bagged it and started over. This is the results. Actually I like it better anyway.
This doily is 19 inches across done in size 10 thread with a size 7/1.65mm hook. I used a green metallic blending filament to give it that sparkle. Not all that noticeable in the picture but it really does sparkle in real life.
Please let me know what you think. Your feed back is appreciated.
Two more doilies to go in this series.

Wow it turned out very pretty.
I am a May person so the word Emerald always gets my attention.
Wow I learned to crochet with thread years and years ago but get stuck with yarn these days when crocheting. Hmm I get to get out my crochet thread and have some fun here.

I'm with Mary Jo - each design you come up with is just too gorgeous for words, and the SPEED with which you've taken these from idea to completion just boggles my mind! I'm in awe!
It would be fun to take all 12 pictures (once you've completed the set) and turn them into a screensaver gallery - what a piece of eye-candy that would be on the desktop, too!

Thank you for allowing me to test this pattern, Kathy...I didn't have the filiment (none of the stores here carry it) and so I just thought I would work it with a beautiful dark green thread. I am only on round 11 right now but its been a real pleasure trying it out. I promise to get pictures up and running as soon as I find someone willing to let me use their home computer to do so.....
