Tunisian Knit Stitch

Okay, so I finally figured out which were the two vertical bars to go between in order to get the tunisian stitch to look like knit, BUT....now my piece is curling severly horizontally, creating a big tube. No matter what I do (tighter, looser, bigger needle), nothing seems to work.
Anyone have any suggestions to get my piece to lie flat????!!!!

I have never had any luck with that either, supposedly the weight of the finished product is supposed to pull it flat, or you can try blocking it. Those were the suggestions given to me.

Thanks for the suggestions. The website in particular was very helpful. I'll try again after the Crochet Olympics are over.
