Walmart has all of the NoBo (No Boundaries) novelty yarns marked down to $2.00. Has anyone worked with this yarn? It doesn't seem to be selling. It arrived just before Christmas and really didn't seem to sell. Stock has remained pretty much the same. Very nice colors. Don't know how long sale will be.

You're right...one cannot resist yarn on sale! I did buy a couple of balls of the yarn. I have a feeling it's going to be marked down further, because it's definitely not selling. I guess I'll be forced to add to my stash. LOL

I have used it and I loved it! i used the fluffy stuff, like the foxy, and the one with the metalic in it. It worked up as well as any other novelty yarn, but thats just my experience.

It's nice. I think they just have problems moving it because it is priced high for a walmart brand of yarn...lol. But I picked up some last time they marked it down a bit and recently used it for the trim on my capelet (http://crafts.vigilant20.com/?p=195) and I'm VERY happy with it. I'll have to check to see if my walmart has it on sale...it'd be worth picking some up at that price.

I LOVE the No Boundaries yarn! My Mother In Law works in the craft department at our local Wal-Mart so I was one of the first to know about the markdown.... I thought it was just OUR Wal-Mart..... The yarn is great, never had a knot or pieced skein, feels nice, works up great, nice variety of textures and colors, not to mention the value compared to name brands....

i have worked with this yarn and its awesome. i will have to go and look and see if our walmart has it for that price. like i need more yarn:devil :devil , but i agree with shelain22. is awesome yarn and very reasonably priced. course most of walmart is, and while i buy some yarn there i still by the bulk of my yarn on e-bay. might have to wait a bit for it, but you can just not beat the price of it. if anyone wants to know the sellers i use pm me and i will glady tell you, as they are very reasonbly priced for yarn and shipping and is a much greater deal.:clap :clap :clap :clap

I looked for this yarn today, and I didn't see anything at all by the name of NoBo. Bummer.

Same here.
I used some to edge a poncho for a little cousin (she's a year and a half) and the one I used is SO incredibly soft - you should have seen her (It was a Christmas present) standing there just petting it! :lol

I looked at it but it seems to me that $2.00 is a lot to pay for less than 100 yards. I think Yarn Bee has spoiled me. They give you lots of yardage for the price.

I was at my Wal-mart the other day and they had a ton of it for $2, picked up two each of several colors to use as trim on scarves and bags.
Will have to check now to see if it goes down anymore. I also use the Price-Checker because sometimes it is listed at the higher price, yet it is marked down even lower. Guess they don't always change it right away.

Well, I was at Walmart today and they still are $2.00 a skein. I asked the girl if they will be reducing the prices since I had seen on my crochet message boards that some Walmarts were down to $1.00. She said they probably would but haven't been done yet, not sure when. But I am there a couple of times a week so I will just keep checking. But I did find a Capricorn Barbie Doll (I am a Capricorn) for $3 on clearance so it wasn't a total loss.

Update: I went back to Walmart yesterday and the $2.00 NoBo is now $1.00. However, the yarn still has a $2.00 price sticker on it but will ring up as $1.00 at register. So make sure you price scan it. W-M is still fully stocked with this yarn. I bet it will be 50 cents soon!

For those of you who are waiting for it to get marked down farther, is there still a pretty good stock at your Wal-Marts? It sold out here when it was marked down to $2. I'm glad I got a couple when I did!

I was at our Wal*Mart yesterday and it is all marked down to 75 cents. Now that I know it is good to work with I am going back. I held it and felt it and wondered what the reason it was on sale, but I did not buy it because I figured there must be SOMETHING about it that is wrong. So,,,today,,,,back I go. :clap

Ours is sold out, too (well - the one that's closest to me). I'll have to head out to a couple of the other walmarts and see if there's any left at those.

I stopped at WM today to get envelopes and had to wander and check, the lady was marking down some of them, but not all of them, I grabbed 7 different colors and types for a buck each. Will be back later in the week to check them out again. I am also goign to run to another town that has a WM next to me, they are usually cheaper.

Wow, you guys are lucky. Ours sold out in next to no time at all. Then again, our Wal-Mart sucks in just about every department. Especially customer service, lol.

Well I went over there yesterday and there are 3 shopping baskets filled with the NO BO. I got all the white they had and all the cream and white mix. It was all 75 cents. I am going back on the weekend to get some more, as there was still quite a bit of nice selection. DH said, well if you don't know what you are going to make with it why did you buy it????? :lol I said, you have hundreds of tools, what are you going to do with all of them, and yet you buy more! :lol :lol I did notice that for the care on the colors that I got it says hand wash. So I will have to think about what I would make and for whom. But hey, they are 75 cents!!! (DH CLUELESS) :devil

Wow, 75 cents! Now I MUST go to Walmart. I've been trying to find a reason to go. It's not that far, but it's also not that close, and with the current price of gas. I've been wanting to get another skein of baby yarn. I've been wanting to make a list of what yarn I would "need", fine, want to get at Walmart, but that list hasn't appeared yet. Now, with No Bo yarn being 75 cents, I absolutely MUST go this weekend!

Well, I was there briefly today and some of the NoBo yarn was down to $1 each. Picked up some but the others that I want are still $2. But they probably will be going down in price too. Hope they get to 75 cents also.

I was just about to report that! Mine had the balls of butterfly and something else for $1, everything else was like $2.86 or something. I really like most of those yarns, just wish they had more colors I liked. They are all pretty darn bright for my tastes.
