I am practicing the basic afghan stitch by making a potholder. I know how to pull up my loops by working in the vertical bars, work loops off my hook 2 at a time, etc. Now I am ready to end the potholder off. How do I bind off? I know thats knit but everything I see pertaining to the "last row" says to slip stitch in the vertical bars across? I dont understand how to do this? Is that same as pulling up a loop???
And will I do the last row right to left or left to right???? I love the look of the afghan stitch. Please help with last row.

You do a sl st in each vertical bar across, just like doing a sl st in regular crochet-insert hook in st and pull lp through the vertical bar and the lp on the hook, do this all the way across then cut yarn and pull the end through your last lp.

I have a tutorial on Tunisian stitch at http://www.crochetcabana.com/specialty/ltc-tunisian.htm
I have pictures showing the bind off. There are also links on that page to a number of other sites (Cindy Murray and Dave at Serendipity particuarly) that might help you.
