:wave I'm new here, I came across this board by accident, but boy I'm I glad I did. I'm Patty, I live in Quebec, Canada. I've been crocheting for 4 years now. I'm working on a poncho for my daughter. I joined the Poncho crochet along and can't wait to get started on it!! I'm a SAHM, I have a 14 year old daughter. I'm a pattern-aholic and a yarn-aholic. Many of my projects become gifts, I don't have many that I've kept for myself. I also knit, x-stitch and scrapbook.

Does your daughter crochet? There are a couple "teens" on the board, I being one of them, and she'd probably enjoy as well! I know what you mean about the gifts. That sounds pretty familiar. Hope you enjoy it here!

Hi Amber,
Nice to meet you! My daughter doesn't like to crochet at all. She's not one to sit down and "create" something that takes up too much time. She does however like to scrapbook. I guess its more instant gratification. I see that you like horses. She's working on her 2nd level in western horseback riding. She rode english sadle for a year and decided to try western. She likes them both and will finish her western training then work on english again. She wants to be a riding teacher when she's more qualified. We don't own any horses but would love to.

Welcome Patty! Arent poncho's great for the kids?!! My girls love them! I have a 6 year old and a 3 year old who will be turning 4 in a couple of weeks, and a 17 month old. I've made poncho's for my two oldest girls and they love wearing them.

I know how it can be getting into many different hobbies. I love both but find crochet more relaxing unless I'm having problems with a pattern and I'm frogging more often than crocheting:eek I'm thinking that I'll start a Crochet scrapbook, first I'll have to get myself a better printer, mine has had better days. I only have digital pics of my projects.

P.S. Are you in Nashville? I think my favorite country singer is from around there, Kenny Chesney. I'd love to visit there one day. And possibly meet him of course!!

I love ponchos!! They are so easy and make such a great gift. I made one for my 5 year old niece and my sister could'nt believe that I made it. I prefer giving hand made items instead of store bought.
