Hi! I, too, am new here to Crochetville. I am not that new to crocheting, though.
I re-learned to crochet about 5 years ago. I hadn't crocheted for 15 years before then.
When I wanted to learn again, I knew a neighbor of mine knew how to crochet. So, I went to the store, bought some hooks, a skein of yarn, and showed up at her door and said, "Teach me!" She taught me single crochet. (I learned how to chain from a book, but I couldn't get past that part!) Then, I got bored with that. I found out that another neighbor crocheted and she taught me how to dc and work in the round. After that, I figured out the rest on my own. Since then, I haven't stopped!! I am absolutely, *hooked*!!!
I also knit some, and do other crafts like rubberstamping, VERY limited sewing, and cross-stitch.
