Just realized I joined the 63 Squares CAL and didn't take a minute to pop in and introduce myself.
I'm Melissa from N.W. Florida, married, mom to three boys-one in high school, one in middle school, and one in elementary school.
I learned to crochet when I was pretty young but it's only been in the last couple of years that I've picked it up again. I've made a few afghans over the years and now I'm addicted, I had forgotten how relaxing crocheting can be and it's a lot more portable than my cross stitch once I've memorized the pattern. I think my problem was that I worried too much about making things absolutely perfect and that's just too much stress. I've now learned that unless I'm making something that someone will wear and as long as I have enough yarn--even that's not necessarily the end of the world any more-- gauge really doesn't matter and crochet is pretty forgiving.
I also love cross stitching, scrapbooking, and reading. I've been trying to teach myself to knit and have discovered I'm just not very coordinated. I guess this is something I need to take a class to learn.
I've only been reading and posting here for a couple of days and everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. Thanks for all the help.
