:wave I just joined yesterday and I'm not sure I'm doing this right, but I'm going to jump right in anyway. I'm from Knightdale, NC, that's 4 miles from Raleigh. I'm a longtime crocheter, taught the basics by my mother when I was a child. Lost interest in it for many years and later picked it back up and been at it ever since. I used to crochet for coworkers mostly (they were the best at the ooohs and aaahs and really appreciated everything) but since I retired, I started crocheting for charity, baby items for a local hospital and other items for a women's shelter. I am disabled and spend most of my time crocheting. I look forward to getting to know you all.

:wave Hi, Dot! I am in New Bern, NC! Not too far away! And sometimes I come in to Raleigh. We have family on my dh's side in Chapel Hill. We lived in Raleigh and moved to New Bern about three and a half years ago -- new job for my dh.

So glad to meet you! It really is a small world isn't it! :jump

Hey, Dot!

I'm from Trenton, NC, about 30 minutes west of New Bern, where I was born. I finished high school in Durham at NCSSM and I've been to Knightdale a few times with my dad.

Right now, I'm in Karlsruhe, Germany. Too bad I'm meeting North Carolinian crocheters while I'm in Europe ;)

Glad you could join us.

Thank you all for such a warm welcome, and what a wonderful surprise to find other North Carolina folks here. I was beginning to think I was the only crocheter in this whole state. :lol

Dot, I am on the Crochet Partners (http://www.crochetpartners.org/) mailing list, and through there have communicated with a very nice woman who is involved with a fledgling CGOA (http://www.crochet.org/) chapter in the South Raleigh/Garner/Clayton etc area. They're not an official chapter yet. If you're interested, e-mail me at donna[at]yarntomato[dot]com and I'll send you her e-mail address. Wish I was still up in that area so I could get involved with it and meet other crocheters! :)
