I've read that folks find amazing bargains ($1 yarn??) in a bin at Target's. We have a new one near me that I've only been in a few times.
Is this only an occasional thing? And near what dept. should I be looking?
Thanks!

I've searched both my local Target and another that is a Target/Greenland and have not found yarn.

The yarn at Target use to be in the front at the $1.00 bins. They had a big sale (at the one near me anyway) and sold all the yarn for $.25 each.
I have not been to target lately, so I am not sure if they have it anymore. You can ask at the customer service center. First ask about the yarn, then ask where the $1.00 bins are. Either way, you should get some kind of answer instead of just a stare.:hook

that was about 6 months ago. it was there till it was gone. very small skeins
they also had some knitting needles and a couple of little pattern books to go with each of the yarn they were selling.

It was a fur like type yarn in very small skeins and I have to tell you that it was horrible yarn. The little fur parts(threads) kept on pulling out as I was using it. I ended up with a bald skinny scarf and then I threw it in the trash. I only spent $3 on the yarn but wow was it a waste. I guess for a $1, you get what you pay for.

In my Target, the $1 Spot is at the front of the store. Sometimes, depending on the store (there are a few around by me) the clearance items are put in the back when they go down to 25 cents. Other stores leave them in the bins and just put up clearance signs.
And I did buy the little skeins of yarn but waited till they were down to 25 cents. Haven't used it yet so I will watch out if the threads pull out for me. Hope not.

I have been meaning to go into Target since I first heard news about them selling yarn and never made it in there. Thinking about it, I haven't been in Target for well over a year. It's not in a bad part of town, but the location is really a pain in the behind. It's almost impossible to get in and out of the plaza that it's in and even though I drive past it everyday the way that plaza is set up I'd rather go out of my way and go to Wal-Mart...
Maybe if we had a super target?

Thanks all! Sounds like it's not really worth getting excited about. I hate going shopping, particularly if I don't know exactly where stuff is... so I'll skip Target :)

Yup it was in Atlanta but like someone said, it's been months.
The dollar spot is nothing to depend on. It rotates out every few weeks and it's very seasonal.
