i have been commissioned for a 2yo boy's sweater with buttons and pockets and a hat that has ear flaps and ties under the chin. i can come up with the sweater but have never done a baby hat with ear flaps. anyone have a pattern i can use for the hat. i could probably test my own pattern, but since i do not want to charge too much for the set, i do not want to use too much time making the hat. :devil (you know the old time is money thing :hook )

:think Just use the stitch you are using for the jumper, to make a beanie. When it is alost long enough to cover the ears, add the ear flaps.
From the join, work across about 2 1/2 inches of the pattern then turn and work on these stitches for the earflap. Work straight for a little bit, then decrease at each end of the row on every row, until there is only one or two stitches left. Make a chain long enought to tie, then work SC along it, back to the end of the ear flap. Fasten off.
Now for the other ear flap.
They are usually closer to the back that in the middle so fold the hat in half and work out where to do the next bit.
With the right side facing, re-join the yarn and work the second flap to match the first.
I usually work a row of Sc right around the head edge and ear flaps, going behind the ties at each side.
:hook Easy peasy.:hook
Just ask if you need more precise details.
I do have one on my Photo Bucket so I will have a go at posting that for you.
Have fun.
