My family is ready to form a lynch mob if I don't get some slippers made FAST. I have several patterns but they are all annoying me (?). I need something that works up quick! I have a hubby, an 18-yr-old girl, a 13-yr-old boy and a 12-yr-old girl all with cold feet and an attitude... I can adjust the size by switching hook sizes and use the appropriate yarns to make them masculine or feminine, but HELP!!!! I'm willing to pay ($$) if anyone can just lead me to something that stitches up quick before they impale me with my own crochet hook!

I made 6 pairs of these for the male members of my South African family. Super quick and easy! You can do a pair or two in an evening!

WOW! Thanks! I am glad I could help!
Couple of things I did a little differently: I used chunky yarn instead of 2 strands together and a chain of 25 was enough for a man's foot measuring 10-11 inches and these will stretch. And I crocheted 18 rows.
I also used an extended sc in the back loop only (I stitched under BOTH loops on the first and last stitch in each row.) which made a really nice rib pattern.
I had a blast making these:)

Thanks, Denise, for clarifying what worked for you! :woo I am definitely not in a position for trial and error here! :worried I'd better produce... and fast!!!:box
I have chunky yarn that I'd hoped to use on at least one pair (for hubby's feet) and of course Dear Daughter #2 chose the MOST EXPENSIVE YARN IN THE STORE :rolleyes for hers... so I figure I'll 'double' it up with a stronger more durable yarn to save a couple bucks! (ah, she'll never notice...:sweat I hope)
The pattern looks super easy and I'm feeling very optimistic!!! :fame Now, if I can get on 18-yr-old daughter #1's good side again (by making the blasted slippers for her) maybe she'll help me load pictures :laptop on Crochetville and I can show you my finished items!

I tried this pattern- I made slippers for my one year old neice. They were super-fast to make. I'm a beginner and they were very easy as well!!:hook

I have a knitting pattern which I took from a newspaper in 1976 (and, amazingly, not only do I remember that I have it, but I know where it is) which is very similar in style to the cuffed version.
It is so easy - a garter stitch rectangle with a row of holes along the two long edges. You fold the rectangle in half, edge to edge in the centre, and stitch along a short side to make the toe. A twisted or crocheted cord is laced through the holes to tie at the top. They are so cute.
I've just made 3 pairs for the young women in my life, DD and sons' girlfriends, and they love them. DD has asked me to make a pair for her housemate.
The crochet pattern could very easily be adapted to lace up.

When you have done the basics and family members have warm feet, you might be interested in Julie Bolduc's Granny Square slippers (we call them Pixie Slippers) for your girls at http://www.jpfun.com/patterns/14misc/grannyslippers.shtml
Very easy to make and a little bit different.

I just made my 4 year old daughter a pair of these today: http://www.*********************/crochet/slisoc.html She is a strange kid... she wanted one pink and the other "rainbow" in her mind that means any multi-colored yarn. She wore them to bed tonite so I will have to get a pic tomorrow.... These do work up fast and once you make one, it becomes very apparent how easy it is to adjust for size.... I am just waiting for the next request for a pair....

I made a pair of those for me at Christmas, FlybabyTina! They were quick to do and very cozy.
