:( Hi, I was wondering if anyone may have a pattern for an XL(sizes Chest:391/2" Bottoms:44") Tankini Bikini...I found the pattern on LionBrand but its to small.. Should I just make the pattern but use my own measurements? Will that work? This is the pattern I liked:

I just need it bigger..LOL:manyheart
Thank you

Hello!
I love making bikinis! Mostly tops, got too lazy to do bottoms LOL!
I would suggest using Stretch Cotton Yarn. You can purchase them inexpensively at www.elann.com (http://www.elann.com/) , that way it "hugs" your curves and has a less chance of "falling off" :D
I pick my most favorite pair of undies and just form the bikini bottoms according to the shape of the undies.
A tight dc or hdc pattern for the fabric should ensure you a "tight" weave that will not
"see through"
For example: Ch 20 for the crotch (this depends on using a sportweight, worsted weight or thread) until it is 2 or 3 inches. Use a 2 dc or 3 dc increase on both ends as you use your undies to help "shape" your bottoms.
PS: This program won't let me publish with the spaces between the slashes. I'm going to use something to help with this problem. I hope you can read it

This is the front (depending on how much you dare to bare)

And this is the back ( an example only. You may modify coverage as you go)
You decide which side to do first-front or back. When you are done with one side. Start shaping the other side from the crotch up.
You can use ties or crochet bands across.

The tops will be posted in the next thread. I'm going to copy this and put in on my blog!! This is good stuff!
Hope this helps!

Here's a link for one. At the end of the pattern she indicates how to adjust for larger sizes.
