So here's my problem.......I have a niece I have not been lucky enough to see yet because we live so far away but I would like to make her something. She's about 18 months old right now.
Whenever I try to find pattern for a cute dress or something I keep getting 'odd' things.
Does anyone know where I can find a cute, summery type, dress/outfit for a little girl that is not too hard to make?
I really appreciate all your help.

I made this in orange and white, with Patons Canadiana. It worked up large (I used the smallest instructions and it fits my 2 year old niece). It looks fantastic and was really easy to follow.

I made the sweetie pie dress for my daughter in a lime green on the bottom and a variegated on top. She loves it and the yarn is so soft. The best part is that in the summer she just wears the dress and when it got colder she wore a long sleeve top under it and tights. It worked up real fast too.

I'm working on the sweetie pie toddler dress right now for my 1-y/o, and it is so simple! I started this morning and the bodice is aready finished, so it works up quickly as well.
I also have a 3-y/o, so I'm hoping to adapt the pattern with thicker yarn or a larger hook, to make one for her, too.
Good luck with your dress!

I love the Sweetie Pie dress too. I've made 2 of them. One with the heart as given in lavendar and lime. Then another with a yellow bodice and a varigated pastel skirt. Only I didn't buy enough varigated, so I made a yellow band on the bottom and added a pink and blue bird applique on the bodice to tie all the colors together. Each dress took me 2 or 3 days to finish.

I'd love to make a sweetie pie dress for my 3 year old - she LOVES dresses. I never variate from a pattern - how would I go about making it bigger?
