neck/face warmer

a friend of mine is getting ready to hike the Appalachian Trail, and I want to make him a face/neck warmer for the trip. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

I think you could try the Knifty Knitter form Hobby Lobby Or other craft store.You knit with a loom and a hood in the round. When you are done it realy looks like you knitted it. I have made a lot of Chemo hat's from this.
