I'm one of those people who always spoils my 8-10 co-workers with a little something at every holiday. However, rarely is it ever a crocheted item. Out of 10 years of working in this office only one time did I make them something crocheted.

Anyway, I found a pattern for a tiny Easter basket and I made one. It was ok, but it didn't satisfy my needs--it just wasn't FUN enough. Then I found this pattern(bunny egg cozy): http://www.crochetforkids.com/PDF/Bunny%20Egg%20Cozy.pdf I can fill this with candy. Ah-Ha! Perfect.

I thought I can make that up kind of cute with different pastel Easter Colors. Here is a picture of the front and back of the one I made last night. I didn't add the whiskers. Didn't think I needed to go buy that stuff. I do have thin black crochet thread I could probably use.

They worked up quickly. However I think I'm going to add one more row in the center to make it a little longer. I have to keep tugging on it to pull it down so it covers the entire egg. BUT this was just my sample for me. :D

Just to let you know. I added another round of the sc in the center to lengthen it. It sits up much better than my pink sample one.

I'm on my 4th one now...those bunnies sure are MULTIPLYING at my house! They are really cute in different pastel colors! I'll take a pic of the "group" when I've got them all done. Awww!

They are really cute. I reckon the original looks a bit mousey with the wiskers. What if yu added some white stitches for the buck teeth look? Just a thought.

I can see them breeding now! Things like this are soooo much fun.:lol

That's cute. Instead of thread for whiskers, you could use colored fishing line for the whiskers, just an idea.

Fishing line is a good idea. Hmmm. I knew there had to be something out there that I could use for whiskers. Thanks for the idea.

Ok, I'll quit bugging you guys with my bunny pics. I went ahead and just used my black thread I had on hand for the whiskers. I think they look cute. Here is a picture of the front and the backs of my bunnies.

Now all I have to do is get some more pompons for the noses and the tails. I ran out. I put a white pompon for the nose on the pink bunny. I don't like it!! Maybe a black one would look better. I have 2 more pink bunnies that I didn't finish for that reason.

I think my favorite ones are the light purple and mint green! I've already bought the candy to put inside. Now I can't wait until I get to give them away. I want to make some more. They are too fun!
Thanks for looking!

These are so cute. Thanks so much for posting this. I am signed up to do something for my daughters class for easter and I think I have found what I will give the kids. It's perfect, because they can have something cute to play with and get candy at the same time.

Thanks a bunch.

I think I'm up to 24 bunnies. I just made 3 more during lunch. They need eyes, noses and tails when I get home. I just can't stop making them! They are addicting.

Cupcake or anyone who has made these bunnies--share your pics with me! I'd love to see the colors you used.

UPDATED PIC:

HERE THEY ARE: (there is a variegated one that is really ugly! LOL) my son requested that one.
