This pattern is at least 2 or 3 years old and came as a free pattern on the wrapper of Caron Simply Soft yarn. I think it's been used in magazine ads for the yarn more recently though.

The shawl in the picture was white and the pattern was a combination of double crochets and shell stitches. The edging was rounds of treble crochet shells and the finally picots. It was really pretty and I'd love to have the pattern again. Can anybody help me out?

Thanks.

I read somewhere else that it's not available on-line but if write to them they will mail it to you for free. I e-mailed them last week (just from their site) and got the pattern within a few days. It is a lovely pattern too.

It is also still on the wrappers for simply soft. At least it is on the ones I bought a couple of months ago!

I want you all to know I have just finished this in Caron SS off white....and I love it. It works up SUPER FAST and the only thing I left out was the last row....I did not care for the way the picot was turning out ( I thought it made the soft bumps look like mini triangles...It just didn't look right with the color)

You are going to love working this project up!!!!

I'm almost done with this one too. I also did it in off white, which I actually dislike. It looks far too yellow to me.
It is a fast work. I don't know that I'd say super fast though. However I've been working on other things so maybe that's part of it. Well that and the fact that I don't crochet all day long or even every day. :lol

I love this pattern I think I'm going to use it for the shawl I'm making for FSIL to go over her wedding dress

Empress....It does lean (seriously) towards 'yellowish' I like to think of it as more like "French Vanilla" color :) You are probably right also about me saying it works up 'super fast' When I have a progect in my bag....Where ever I go the project goes also, so I end up working on things several times a day. I am a SAHM, the shawl took me about a week.

French Vanilla is a pretty good description. LOL

I'm a SAHM too. I do try to take it with me but sometimes it does't work out. Or I get too involved in shows and forget to crochet. But yes I'd guess about a week is about right. LOL
