I thought this project would drive me insane, but I think I'm ok. Really :P .

Here's a picture of the front, folded into fourths (as I don't have a camera and have to scan it :blush ). The parts folded behind are just level with the rightmost end. The two straps going off to the side tie together like a halter top.

And below is one of the back, also folded up to fit and with a paper in there so you can see it better:

The main part of the body is a large diagonal box stitch rectangle (aprox 11 in x 31 in) done with two strands of black sewing thread held together. The upper part is shaped by shrinking rows of fan stitches. The bottom rows have more dc in them to be more solid, going to only 2 dc plus chains in the top. Some sc were used for shaping it. Lastly there are some beads in the bottom border :)

I started this in early-to-mid March, so I think this a new stitches-per-day record for me :eek .

Anyway, hope you all are a little less afraid of thread now ;) I think I'll have to wing up another :devil And maybe a shrug too.. ::insane laugh:: :lol

How fantastic is this project! You must have incredible perseverance to forge ahead with SEWING THREAD! What was your stitch gauge, 100 stitches to the inch and 10 rows to the inch?!! :lol Maybe somebody can take a picture of you modeling this wonderful top. I truly admire your patience and sense of design.:)

I used a 10 hook (1.15 mm) since that's the smallest one I own right now. I just winged up the design, though I kept notes on what I did so I can try to make another and get an actual pattern written down.

The gauge was 6 diagonal box stitches to an inch (so aprox 20ish dc an inch). The single crochets I have no idea though, they were starting to make my eyes hurt :lol . It goes fast with diagonal box stitch just because there is not much stitch counting going on :) That's a surprisingly mindless stitch for the complicated look it gives (I guess that's why I love it so much :D ).

I'll work on bribing someone to take a picture. :)

I wish I hadn't tossed my spools because I don't know the yardage on them, it came out as:

3 full for strand 1, 1 partial
3 full for strand 2, 1 partial

That also included amounts used in test swatching, but I didn't make big swatches so not much used there.
