I am a new member to Crochetville and have been crocheting for just over a year after taking lessons. I have recently completed 2 classic crochet vests. One was done with front post double crochet, using an old Leisure Arts Pattern 141, and the other is from Nancie Wiseman's book "Classic Crochet Vests published in 2004 which was available in my library. I hope that the pictures post sucessfully. http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/th_DSCF0004.jpg (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/DSCF0004.jpg) http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/th_DSCF0003.jpg (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/DSCF0003.jpg) http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/th_DSCF0002.jpg (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/DSCF0002.jpg) http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/th_DSCF0001.jpg (http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g192/Ardilaun/DSCF0001.jpg) Edgehill

Those are both very classy. I just ordered that book for my birthday and can't wait for it to arrive. I particularly like the maroon vest. :)

Welcome to C'ville! I love your vests.......I still have to make my first wearable. Haven't tried one yet even if I have been crocheting for 2 years now.

Thanks for your very kind comments. Unfortunately, I have entered that stage in life when the heat suddenly comes on and sweaters on cool days become too hot.
Any other suggestions from the wise forum for finding similar vest patterns.

Great job on the vests. Leisure Arts (Maybe someone else) has a Weekend Crochet series. They had lots of clothes, including a vest on the cover. I've seen it at more than one branch of the public library in my area.

I made the basket weave vest
and then I tried to fix it-around arm and I ended up frogging the whole vest-
I was very upset
I have not had too much success with sweaters and vests
