Do I need the most current version of this program to make buttons or will v6 work? The more current the version the more out of my budget they get, lol.

<span style="font-family:comic sans ms; color:purple;">Nope, you can use psp6 and it'll work just fine. I use both 5 & 7 with no problems <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/veryhappy.gif" /></span>

I've been using version 7 for a few years now and can't see any big reason to upgrade--I'd just have to learn where they moved all the tools to in the new version :lol

The biggest help to me in learning how to use it was the book Teach Yourself Paint Shop Pro 7 in 24 Hours (can't remember the author, but I think it was put out by Sams publishing). I don't know if if they have a newer one for version 9 in that series, but I'm sure there are other ones out there, too... I tend to have trouble learning what to do in a graphics program without instructions about what each tool can do, etc, so having a book to look at helped. (The software came with its own great big book, but that one was like trying to read the manual to my VCR :ohdear )

I've used 7 for a long time, too.

I just played around until I figured things out. Also I yahoo search for tutorials. :)

Thanks everyone! I will definitely see if I can get a deal on an older version then.
