Well I am for sure not a size medium, I finished the sweater, was a good exercise, I will have to find a size medium recipient. I put the black sweater on so it would show up better, I did the buttons but to me it looks better without.:hook Opps the Sweater is from Crochet Magazine March 2006 edition
The front of the sweater on me sorry it's not real clear

It turned out great, Emilyann. I actually think that it looks like it fits you. Are you concerned that it doesn't button across the front? Not too many sweaters are ever worn buttoned up! I fear that if you made it much larger, the open-work stitches would cause it to be limp. It's very flattering on you. :)

Wow, it looks good. I love the pattern. I could never figure out the 1st row. I have done that stitch before, but my 25 stitches came out about 18" long and it just didn't seem right. Good job:cheer .

That is gorgeous! I love the pattern....

Funny that I would click on your sweater right after reading the thread about checking gauge... I am currently making a sweater that I have NO idea what size it will be... I guess I'm a wild woman, living on the edge and not checking gauge...

I sure wish I was a size medium... be happy to take this beauty off your hands, though I don't think you'll have any problem!

That looks fantastic! I love the openness of the stitches. I think makes it drape better IMOP.

That is gorgeous -- and it looks so nice on you. Can you say what yarn and hook size you used? I prefer the longer sleeves and length, too. I like yours better than the one in the magazine. Great job. :-)

Hey! Guess what? Thanks to your clear instructions I got past the first few rows and am all the way to the body! You ROCK!

I did make a mistake somewhere as the was a big gap on the neckline where the "butt end" of the base chain is. I didn't notice it until after I joined the armholes and tried it on.:(

I just couldn't bring myself to frog so I attached some yarn, chained 5, attached to the other end of the gap and took a little stitch.

Once you get going it is pretty easy:)

I used the same hook as called for in the pattern but I used a WW off white, I think it is Caron one pounder.

Yep I did that too if I hadn't been doing the top part over and over again to explain I would have done that too!!! I made one example thru row 5 or 6 in about 4 or 5 different yarns, so by the time I was doing it for real and got more rows into it I had already made the boo- boos! Good for you persistence pays!!!! I don't know why but this one was particularly hard to read ..
