Hi, I just finished my first Bolero/Shrug. I got the pattern from here (http://www.caneyladyscreations.com/2_boleros_-_crochet_patterns.htm) - it was super simple to do. Very easy pattern directions. I made the large. I used Red Heart Super Saver in a varigated color called Monet.

It's so hard to see the edges on the first picture, so I draped it on my pillow and took some that way so you can what it would look like on a person.

I made this for my 13 year old grand niece, she says she is in a misses large.

What do you think? Should I add any embellishments to it at all or just leave it alone?

Really cute, I'm sure she'll love it! I noticed the pattern said it was crocheted in one piece - was it hard to follow the pattern?

I like that a lot. I wouldn't embellish it, it looks great now. What yarn did you use?

Mardar - I used Red Heart Super Saver in a varigated color called Monet. Thanks for the compliment.

I noticed the pattern said it was crocheted in one piece - was it hard to follow the pattern?

It was super simple. Believe me, if I can follow a pattern - anyone can!!!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. And thanks for the suggestion to just leave it alone. I really LIKE that idea!!!

I was wondering how that shrug would look in person! You did a great job with the crochet and the colors. I wouldn't change anything!

Very pretty colour. I would add a cord in the centre to close it. :hook

I really like it! I want to make one for myself, too! :hook I've been looking for just the right shrug lately to make for myself. I might try this one (and I like the Monet, I have some of it -I'll have to get some more then I can make one just like yours...)

Aww one of Lisa Gentry's patterns.. Yes her patterns are easy to follow and you can buy them email so you get them right away. I have several patterns of hers I ordered online.. The instructions (pattern) is well written and she even has pictures so you know how to do the stitch just in case.. If only all patterns were illustrated so well..
