Anyone ever design or make one of these? Kind of like this:

http://www.organize-everything.com/petnet.html

I never buy it because the colors never match, but I need a place to store a never ending collection of stuffed pigs I have.

I was thinking of making one myself so at least it will be the colors I want.

Am I just whistling dixie here?

Well although I have never made one. I believe that using two strands of yarn crocheting a basic mesh stitch that you could crochet a triangle. Then put several rows of very tight sc around the edges. Then make loops or add (shower/napkin) rings to the ends and then use wall hook screws to attach it to the wall. You would have a Stuffed animal net. I think that is clear:think. Anyway that is my idea on how to make one.

net is indeed a triangle with three rings, one on each corner. I use a loose granny square triangle only because a lot of my 'toys' are quite small, and key rings in each of the corners; cup hooks or something stronger if your toys are big or heavy go into the wall. I'd recommend heavier only because if the cup hooks come out they make such a mess of your wall. I layer mine; three feet from the floor and about two feet apart. I've also used one set with the first pet net at the top of a dresser that sits in a corner and then two more as shelves. re-enforcing the outer edge sounds like a good idea I'll try it on my next one

You wouldn't have a picture of this would you? Give me something to go on?

MamaHooks, you were indeed very clear! Thanks!

I have a pattern for one somewhere, in an old magazine. I think it might be in storage though. If I remember right, it is just a triangle mesh.

Ok, your dealing with a beginner here, is a mesh a type of stitch?

I just bought a book off of ebay because this pattern (among others that I wanted) was in it. The book is called Annie's favorite quick and easy projects and it is on page 97. The book is worth it to buy because it has lots of cute projects in it

That book does have that pattern! I never noticed it before. I checked my copy out of the library. Their patterns are SOOO cute. I have yet to make an item from it yet, though.

Here's another toy net pattern I don't think was shared yet here. (http://crochetpatternsonly.blogspot.com/2005_07_15_crochetpatternsonly_archive.html)

Cool, that book is at my library, I have it on request! It looks like it's got a lot more than just a pet net in that book!!!

And thanks Samantha for sharing that pattern!

I'd put a row of shrimp stitch (http://woolywonder.com/classpages/crabby/crabstitchlesson.htm) (reverse sc) around the edges. I've found it to be a fabulous little-to-no-stretch edging. :yes
