Help!

I am a beginner crocheter and would love to make my neice a shawl for her birthday.Does anyone have any pretty patterns or ideas?thankyou!

This one from Lionbrand is easy.
First, you might have to register to see it, no big deal though. :)
Second, it's made in homespun but I really think you could do it in something lighter and a color for her.
Third, it's worked from the bottom up so you can stop when you think it's just right rather than going until they say to stop.
