View Full Version : My new black skirt

I just finished this skirt that I've been wanting to make for months. I saw a little green skirt in a window last year, I could see it was crocheted, but I couldn't figure out what the stitch was. Then a few weeks ago, I bought a new crochet/knit book, and there it was.
The yarn is babywool, the hook 2.5 mm, and the stitch a combination of dc's and ch's with increases toward the bottom. :)

Here it is flat, that makes the stitch easier to see.

Thank you. :hug
The zigzagging I got from a (Danish) book, but the skirt I just made up by increasing stitches as it got longer.
The pattern is basically X dc's, 2 ch, X dc's, skip two, repeat, which forms the zigzagging. I increased the number of dc's by two dc's pr three rows, then pr every two rows. (You can see where it gets wider). There's two dc's in the last stitch of every row, and one in the same as the turning chain in the beginning of every row.
Actually, if you squint, you can kinda see where the increases are made, not directly above each other, but fanning out toward the bottom. :lol
I hope that makes sense.

Do you mean X = so-many-dcs, or do you mean to cross the dcs as you work? It looks like there's just plain dcs and not crossed ones.:yes ???:no???

I mean X number of stitches. At first I had 3 stitches in the first six 'groups' of dc's, four in the groups over the middle and three again in the last six groups. Then the increases were made until there were four in every group, starting the increases from the center of the skirt and out. The next round of increases was started in the middle of the row, and ended when every 'group' of dc's had 5 stitches. I increased on every two rows until all groups had 6 stitches.
Now I don't blame you if it doesn't make sense any longer, but I hope you can decipher it. :lol
