Wow!!
That is very beautiful... I love hummingbirds here and I crochet with thread also.. The only crochet hummingbird pattens I have ran across have been more on the filet type pattern. Smartcrochet has some... I would like to get that pattern also would be very pretty framed and hung on the wall.

That is just beautiful! I'll ask this--if mil made it and she is deceased might someone in the family of received her crochet patterns? Also might you know when it was made? 60's, 70's? It might help someone to be able to help you. Wish I knew.

What an absolutely gorgeous pattern. I belong to a forum that has members from all over the world also, if you send me a picture to my email, I can try to find it for you. We have some elderly members also that seem to know patterns by heart. I will post it and see if I can find it.

Melody, I have been searching. I KNOW that I saw that pattern at one time, but cannot locate it now. It seems to me that it was either Coats and Clark, or DMC that had it. I remember it was thread and that it was shiny and/or metallic. I wish I could be of more help. Great luck. Cindi

Dear Melody, I searched around a little for you---the nearest I came to anything even partially resembling what you want was on digitalgranny.com and then ran into trouble. It shows a square with a hummingbird drinking from a flower which looks like a rose. It is a yarn sq. for an afghan, but when I went to the designer's site, it did not come up. If you are interested, however, you can go to the "help" section on digitalgrammy and it says you can e-mail the web hostess about the pattern and she may be able to help obtain it. I know this is pretty lame, but the square is pretty and perhaps you could crochet an afghan in memory of your mother. It is a pretty square, but I am sure not what you really want. The hummingbird looks like it is suspended in the air while drinking from the flower, on a blue background. Sorry I could not do any better --I lost my Mother and my son within six months of each other and I know how you are feeliing.

Apparently she's removed the image from her host site. Sorry. I wish she hadn't. It was very nice.
Here is the pattern for the square: Click (http://*****************/web/20031021153500/http://www.denisecrochets.com/hummingbirdsq.htm)

Sorry but that's not what she was looking for. Who knows if she ever found it. She only posted once.
On a hunch I looked at eBay and one sell has a few up. However it's for the doily, not the pattern. At those of you who missed can see what it looks like:
